Our engagements

Promote the local and direct economy – Local, organic, fair trade food
The Silo team favors producers from its region. In addition, the grocery store specializes in the sale of products certified organic by Québec Vrai.By this choice, we prioritize products without pesticides or synthetic chemical fertilizers from petroleum resources. In addition, the foods are GMO-free and are not irradiated as we see more and more in industrial agriculture. The result: safe environments for people who cultivate the land and healthy, living food on our plates.

No waste
A human-sized grocery store adapted to the needs of its community allows the team to make adjusted orders and limit food loss. In addition, the bulk product offer offers customers the possibility of buying the quantity adjusted to their needs, whether daily, weekly or monthly. Finally, when certain foods are no longer “salable” but quite “consumable”, we share them among the team or in the community (Restaurants, neighborhood cafes, friends).

EVERY TUESDAY FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES AT 10% OFF.

With minimal packaging
Certified ICI ON RECYCLE NIVEAU 3
with the highest level of performance, Le Silo received in 2018 an extraordinary mention from Recyc-Québec for its recovery rate of 99.68% of its residual materials. A specialized grocery store for followers of the “zero waste” lifestyle, Le Silo is a concrete alternative to over-packaging food and allows us to considerably reduce our consumption of single-use packaging by allowing bulk sales and invites the population to bring its containers.

Simple and varied foods
With its offer of more than 500 bulk products (fresh fruits and vegetables, dried fruits, nuts, coffee, teas, herbal teas, chocolates, flours, grains, spices, etc.), Le Silo invites its community to rediscover the pleasure of cooking in choosing simple, unprocessed foods without chemical additives.

At the heart of two high-density residential neighborhoods
In the heart of the East Sherbrooke community, Le Silo wants to be well anchored in its living environment and promotes local commerce. Accessible on foot, by bike and by bus, it is wonderfully well positioned to encourage eco-responsible travel.

Le Silo 2.0
In order to meet strong demand from the Borough of Rock
Forest, a second branch has taken root at the corner of rue Fortier and Bourque
at Rock Forest in March 2020. It is always with the same values and a spirit
of community that Le Silo wishes to immerse itself in this booming neighborhood and
offer quality products while maintaining a local offer.
